The Guigal Hermitage Blanc 2004, crafted by E. Guigal, originates from the limestone terroirs of Hermitage. A blend of Marsanne (95%) and Roussanne, aged in barrels, it offers aromas of flowers and honey. A lively and structured palate, ideal with lobster or pressed-paste cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the steep slopes of the northern Rhône, E. Guigal has perpetuated since 1946 a heritage of precision and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: Gravel, sandstone and limestone soils on the mythical hill of Hermitage, where Marsanne and Roussanne draw their chalky minerality.
- Vinification: Patient aging in second-fill barrels, for an expression that is both rich and taut, faithful to the estate's philosophy of balance.
Tasting notes for E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc 2004 wine
To the eye – A golden robe with old gold reflections, of a silky and slightly unctuous texture, like liquid honey catching the light.
On the nose – Aromas of acacia blossom and dried linden, followed by a touch of toasted hazelnut and candied citrus zest, all lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, where Marsanne unfolds its stony minerality and citrus tension, before a long and spiced finish carried by an elegant acidity.
Serve between 12 and 14 °C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to release its full aromatic complexity.
