A family estate rooted in Ampuis, at the heart of the steep slopes of Côte-Rôtie, where the legacy of Étienne Guigal has been perpetuated since 1946.
- Terroir: Clay and schist soils rich in iron oxide, on the steep slopes of the northern Rhône Valley, shaping wines of unique mineral intensity.
- Winemaking: Meticulous aging in new French oak barrels, for an expression that is both powerful and of silky elegance.
Tasting notes for the wine Guigal Côte Rôtie La Landonne 2001
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and of an almost velvety texture, betraying a generous substance and long maturation.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and fresh violet intertwine with notes of liquorice, roasted cocoa and black pepper, lifted by a saline touch and a chalky minerality characteristic of the terroir.
On the palate: A silky and fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a fine yet present tannic structure, while a long and saline finish leaves an impression of purity and elegant tension.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to fully release its complex aromas.

A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering concentration and balance, typical of the great years of Côte-Rôtie.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2025, or beyond for bottles stored under ideal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity, away from light).
