The Côte Rôtie La Mouline 1979 by E. Guigal, sourced from the gneiss and loess soils of Côte Blonde, blends Syrah and Viognier. Floral and spiced notes, silky and mineral texture after 42 months in barrels. To be enjoyed by 2020, with duck with cherries or an aged cheese.

- Winemaking : Patient aging in new oak barrels preserves the balance between power and elegance, yielding cuvées of remarkable purity.

In the glass – A garnet-red color with brick-red highlights and a silky depth that reveals four decades of bottle aging.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh violet and wild blackberry mingle with notes of licorice, roasted cocoa and flint, lifted by a saline touch characteristic of the great Côte Blonde terroirs.
On the palate – A velvety, almost unctuous texture, supported by lively acidity and chalky minerality, leads to a long, taut finish where sweet spices mingle with preserved dark fruit.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.

A vintage marked by early ripening and stable weather conditions, producing structured wines with great aromatic finesse.
