The Jacques Selosse Version Originale, Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut, comes from the chalky terroirs of Avize, Cramant and Oger. Made from Chardonnay, it reveals notes of dried fruits and a mineral touch. Its broad, saline palate pairs well with seafood and can be kept until 2040.
A family estate rooted in the chalky slopes of Avize, where the terroir dictates every gesture with rare exacting standards.
- Terroir: Chalky soils on the slopes of the Grands Crus Avize, Cramant and Oger – a unique minerality, sculpted by the champenois climate.
- Vinification: Organic methods, aging in solera and seven years of patience in the cellar for a pure and vibrant expression of Chardonnay.
Tasting notes for the Jacques Selosse Version Originale wine
To the eye: A golden robe with green highlights, of a silky texture and crystalline brilliance, like a gleam of chalk in the light.
On the nose: Aromas of candied citrus, freshly roasted nuts, hazelnut butter and acacia honey, lifted by a saline touch and a chalky minerality that evokes the subsoils of Avize.
On the palate: A broad and concentrated attack, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension, before a long, saline finish of persistent elegance – like a wave of melting chalk.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a narrow Champagne flute to preserve its freshness and complexity.
Vintage Non-Vintage
A cuvée assembled with patience, where each year brings its touch of freshness and depth, without surrendering to the whims of a single vintage.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2040, provided it is stored away from light, in a cool cellar (12–14°C) with stable humidity.
