The Château L'Évangile 2013, a fine wine from Pomerol, is born on gravelly and argilo-calcareous soils. This wine, 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, reveals notes of black fruits, tobacco and cocoa after 18 months in barrels. Silky and mineral palate. Ideal until 2028 with game or cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for over two centuries, shaped by an exceptional terroir and a constant quest for balance.
- Terroir : Gravelly and clay soils of Pomerol, where Merlot and Cabernet Franc flourish under a temperate oceanic climate, bestowing upon the wines a mineral depth and a rare elegance.
- Winemaking : A plot-by-plot approach and patient aging in oak barrels, combining tradition and precision to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château L'Évangile Evangile 2013
To the eye – A deep purple robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, heralding a generous character and a well-defined structure.
On the nose – First, fresh aromas of wild blackberry and black plum, followed by deeper notes of blonde tobacco, bitter cocoa and a mineral touch reminiscent of graphite, all enveloped in a subtle noble wood smoke.
On the palate – A velvety and fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, which stretches into a long, saline finish where hints of candied raspberry and gentle spices intertwine.
To be served between 16°C and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
2013 Vintage
A vintage marked by capricious climatic conditions, where the rigorous plot-by-plot selection made it possible to extract a wine of remarkable tension and fine complexity.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed until 2028, provided it is stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
