Tasting notes for Château Latour 2000
To the eye – A deep garnet-red robe, almost opaque, where density reveals itself in a silky gleam and a slow tear.
On the nose – First, a freshness of crunchy blackcurrant and wild blackberry, then deeper notes of cedar, graphite and a saline touch reminiscent of the estuary's sea spray.
On the palate – A precise attack, carried by tight yet velvety tannins, a lively acidity that underlines the chalky minerality, and a remarkably long finish where soft spices and candied dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A sun-drenched vintage, marked by perfect grape maturity, where power and elegance balance each other with rare harmony.
- Aging potential: To be kept until 2040, or even beyond, in a cellar with a stable temperature (12–14°C) and away from light.
