Marthe Henry Pommard 1er Cru 2022, from the clay-limestone hillsides of Pommard. This Pinot Noir, aged in barrels for 18 months, reveals notes of cherry and spices. The palate is taut, silky and mineral. Perfect for aging 5 to 8 years, it pairs with red meats and slow-cooked dishes.
A family estate rooted at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, where respect for the terroir guides every gesture.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Pommard Premiers Crus, marked by a chalky minerality and an ideal exposure for Pinot Noir.
- Winemaking: Manual harvesting, 18 months aging in barrels without additives, for precise and vibrant wines.
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with silky highlights, of an elegant density.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and wild blackberry, evolving towards notes of violet and liquorice, underlined by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate: Velvety texture, lively acidity and fine tannins, carried by a taut minerality and a long finish, marked by aromas of undergrowth and gentle spices.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release all its complexity.
A sunny and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the fruit combines with a mineral freshness characteristic of great Pommard wines.
- Aging potential: To be kept 8 to 12 years in a cool and humid cellar, away from light.
