The Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe 2020 from Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg reveals the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir, with notes of blackcurrant and undergrowth, combines freshness and silky tannins. Perfect for cellaring until 2030, it pairs beautifully with game and rich dishes.
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg
A family estate rooted in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, where exacting standards and tradition shape wines of rare elegance.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, the birthplace of great Pinot Noir, where each parcel expresses a distinctive minerality.
- Vinification: A precise and respectful approach, combining traditional fermentation and barrel aging to reveal the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe 2020
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh blackcurrant, wild blackberry and black cherry, lifted by a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky note, like a mineral breath rising from the hillsides.
On the palate – A velvety and taut texture, where concentrated fruit balances with vibrant acidity and a saline minerality, extended by a long and precise finish.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to enhance its complexity.
Vintage 2020
A vintage marked by generous maturity and beautiful freshness, yielding structured and harmonious wines.
- Aging potential: 8 to 12 years, to be stored under ideal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
