Ruppert-Leroy Cuvée 11 12 13 Brut Nature R22, perpetual champagne (2011–2022) from the Kimmeridgian marls of the Aube. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir aged in barrels without sulfur, with notes of citrus and spice. Lively and mineral palate, ideal with fatty fish or as an aperitif. Aging potential: 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the Kimmeridgian marls of the Côte des Bar, where biodynamics shapes champagnes of rare purity.
- Terroir: Chalky and marly soils of the Aube, cradle of a vibrant minerality and precise fruit expression.
- Vinification: Perpetual reserve, aging in oak barrels with no added sulfur for wines that are alive, taut, and unadorned.
Tasting notes for Ruppert-Leroy Cuvée 11 12 13 Brut Nature R22
Appearance – Golden robe with green highlights, of a silky limpidity, threaded by a fine and persistent bead of bubbles.
On the nose – Aromas of pink grapefruit, hawthorn blossom, and toasted hazelnut, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of gentle spice, like a breath of wind over the limestone hillsides.
On the palate – Lively and precise attack, carried by a mineral tension that stretches into a chalky finish, where the freshness of the fruit and the depth of the large barrels intertwine, for an elegant and mouth-watering length.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a tall flute or a white wine glass to preserve its aromatic purity.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by generous ripeness, balanced by the freshness of summer nights, lending this cuvée a harmonious structure and vibrant energy.
- Aging potential: 8 to 10 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
