The A. Bergère estate, with its history rooted in Champagne tradition, continues to elevate the art of viticulture and winemaking to offer exceptional Champagne, reflecting the unique terroir of the region. Excellent value for money for this grower Champagne!
The Champagne estate A. Bergère has a rich history spanning several generations. Founded by the Bergère family, the estate has been shaped over the years by passion and expertise passed down from generation to generation. The commitment to quality and the expression of terroir has been the driving force behind the estate's evolution over the decades.
The Bergère family's story in the world of Champagne began in 1949. It was Albert Bergère, the grandfather, who initially embarked on the winemaking and commercialisation of his Champagne under the name A. Bergère. Albert founded a family, and later his youngest son, André, decided to take the reins of the family estate. André was accompanied by his wife, Brigitte Martin, who was already involved and contributed considerably to the passionate couple, particularly in terms of expanding the vineyard and enriching the viticultural heritage.
The A. Bergère estate extends across varied terroirs of the Champagne region, offering a diversity that is reflected in the complexity of its wines. The vines are carefully cultivated, often on the calcareous soils emblematic of the region. Environmentally respectful and sometimes biodynamic farming practices are implemented to preserve the health of the vineyard.
Winemaking at the A. Bergère estate is meticulous, with particular attention paid to every stage of the process. The grapes, primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, are harvested by hand to ensure optimal quality. Modern and traditional techniques are harmoniously combined to create balanced Champagnes that reflect the unique character of each plot.
Origine: This emblematic cuvée embodies the essence of the A. Bergère estate. Balanced and elegant, it offers aromas of fresh fruit and subtle minerality. Perfect for celebrating special moments and great occasions.
Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut: Beautiful aromas of white flowers dominate the nose, followed on the palate by fragrances of citrus, lemon, and grapefruit. A lovely structure, tension, and persistent freshness, typical of the Côte de Blancs!
Blanc de Blancs Brut Solera: This cuvée embodies the elegance and finesse of a Champagne crafted exclusively from Chardonnay. Composed of 50% reserve wines, carefully preserved since 2013, this Champagne draws its character from the distinctive terroirs of Fèrebrianges, Etoges, and Congy in the Vallée du Petit Morin, near Montmirail in the Marne, as well as Sézanne in the Côte du Sézannais. Since 2013, Maison A. Bergère has been perfecting its blend by combining 50% of the current year's wines with a unique Solera method. This technique involves the annual integration of wines from different years, encouraging evolution on lees and partially in oak barrels. The vines, rooted in calcareous soils, add a distinctive dimension to the expression of the terroir, reinforcing the Maison's commitment to nature-respecting viticulture. A golden robe, full of elegance, a rich and generous nose with floral notes — this Champagne delivers a beautiful unctuosity on the palate, with subtle aromas of white fruits (white nectarine, vine peach). The Solera Blanc de Blancs Brut thus embodies the art of blending, the passion for terroir, and the constant pursuit of excellence by Maison A. Bergère.
Cuvée Prestige: A refined expression of the terroir, this prestigious cuvée reveals the complexity and depth of the estate's characteristics. A meticulous blend and extended ageing in the cellar contribute to its finesse and distinctive character.
Cuvée Rosé: This seductive cuvée expresses the subtle art of blending to create a vibrant rosé Champagne. Notes of red fruits and elegant effervescence make it a charming choice for lovers of sparkling rosé.
Cuvée Millésimée: From the best vintages, this cuvée highlights the exceptionality of outstanding years. A Champagne of character, with depth and intensity that develop with bottle ageing.
