The Dehours et Fils house has been established in the Marne valley, in Cerseuil, in Champagne, for 4 generations. It possesses a fine heritage of 14 ha of vineyards spread across no fewer than 42 plots scattered across both banks of the Marne. Pinot Meunier, king of the Marne valley and which makes up 59% of the Dehours et Fils vineyard, is included in the blend of most of the cuvées.
The diversity of expositions, geologies, grape varieties, altitudes and vine ages constitutes as many nuances as the house allows to express through its cuvées: here one discovers true Terroir Champagnes. One of the particularities at Dehours lies in the fact that all the reserve wines have been aged in Solera since 1998 (a perpetual reserve system, where each year the reserve is enriched by an additional year, with younger wines being aged by older ones). Thus, by incorporating part of this reserve into the blend of each bottle of the Grande Réserve cuvée or the Vignes de la Vallée, the history of the Dehours et Fils estate is transmitted through the union of each of the years that have followed one another since the creation of the reserve. One third of the volume of this Solera is even drawn off each year to compose entirely the Trio S cuvée from Dehours, which will be released after a bottle maturation of 42 to 54 months. The Dehours Terre de Meunier cuvée is 100% Pinot Meunier, and pairs wonderfully with sushi and oysters. The Dehours Œil de Perdrix extra brut, with its pale colour, is made from a majority blend of Meunier. A few plots located at the heart of the terroir (situated mid-slope and well-exposed) are highlighted in a singular range called Collection, producing cuvées that bear their names. These cuvées are labelled Brisefer in 100% Chardonnay, La Côte en Bosses (Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay), La Croix Joly in Pinot Meunier, Les Genevraux in 100% Chardonnay, and Maisoncelle, one of the rare Pinot Noir plots at Dehours. Two other terroirs are cultivated as Coteaux Champenois: Les Rieux and Les Vignes de Mizy. The bottling dates (cellaring date) and disgorgement dates are indicated on the back label of each bottle. The base year of the blend being the one preceding the cellaring date. All Champagnes from the house of Dehours et Fils are offered in extra brut version, and the vast range of cuvées allows you to discover wines with smooth, elegant accents and refined textures.
