Domaine Auguste Clape
A pillar of the Cornas appellation, this family estate has embodied for three generations the pursuit of excellence and fidelity to the granitic terroir of the steep slopes.
- Terroir: Eight hectares of terraced vines on granitic and schistous soils of the northern Rhône, shaping Syrahs of vibrant minerality and rare tension.
- Vinification: Traditional method – whole clusters in concrete vats, aged in old foudres – for precise, unadorned wines where fruit meets structure.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 2021
To the eye: Deep red robe with violet hues, dense and silky.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherries and fresh redcurrants intertwine with notes of damp undergrowth, crushed stones and gentle spices, lifted by a saline and peppery touch.
On the palate: An ample, fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, while fine, tightly knit tannins extend the tasting experience into a long, peppery finish of taut elegance.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.

A classic vintage, marked by high acidity and beautiful freshness, reflecting the balance and precision dear to the estate.
