This Champagne Brut Nature 2022 (Pinot Noir, Côte des Bar) is aged in oak barrels. It captivates with its aromas of brioche and green fruits, along with a saline touch. Its silky texture and freshness make it an elegant choice to pair with rice dishes and fish.
Nestled in the heart of the Côte des Bar, this estate embodies the alliance of a secret terroir and audacious winemaking, driven by two committed winegrowers.
- Terroir : Limestone soils with a Kimmeridgian subsoil, altitude of 200 meters and south-facing exposure – a mineral setting where Pinot Noir reveals its full depth.
- Winemaking : Spontaneous fermentations, aging in oak barrels and absence of dosage – a quest for purity and tension, in service of unadorned champagnes.
Tasting notes for the Champagne Clandestin Les Semblables Austral Brut Nature 2022
To the eye – Golden robe with copper highlights, traversed by a ribbon of fine and persistent bubbles, like a lacework of light on the glass.
On the nose – First the tangy freshness of rhubarb and green orange, then more enveloping notes of toasted brioche, candied green olive and pine resin, all underscored by a saline touch evoking sea spray.
On the palate – A silky and rounded attack, where lively green fruits (redcurrant, wild apple) meet a hint of sage, before stretching into a chalky finish, both mineral and lightly toasted, carried by a saline tension that prolongs the tasting experience.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C in a wide-mouthed champagne flute to release its aromas.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by generous ripeness and well-balanced acidity, giving this Blanc de Noirs a structure that is both full-bodied and precise.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed now for its vibrant fruit, or cellared for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14 °C) away from light to watch its aromas evolve toward more toasted and spiced notes.
