On the chalky soils of Saint-Émilion, the Clos Fourtet 2002 (Premier Grand Cru Classé B) blends Merlot (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged in barrels, it offers aromas of dark fruits and spices, with a velvety texture. Perfect with tarragon chicken, to be enjoyed before 2016.

Tasting notes for Château Clos Fourtet Clos Fourtet 2002
On the eye – A deep ruby robe with violet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a silky and generous substance.
On the nose – First aromas of prune and ripe fig, followed by a touch of melted liquorice, then deeper notes of blackcurrant and undergrowth, all lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A full and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a discreet minerality, which stretches into a long and harmonious finish where sweet spices and dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
