A blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot, it reveals blackcurrant, plum and truffle, a silky palate and powerful tannins. Perfect after 15-25 years, with a beef tenderloin with foie gras.

Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 1985
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with still-vivid reflections, revealing a silky texture and a promising density.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where black cherry, candied plum, notes of golden tobacco and a touch of undergrowth intertwine, lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A full and velvety attack, carried by melted yet persistent tannins, precise acidity and a long finish, where aromas of cedar and mocha unfold.
Serve at 16 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.

A sunny vintage, where the maturity of the grapes gave rise to a wine of rare opulence, while retaining a remarkable freshness.
