The Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg 2006, born on the clay-chalky soils of Chacé, reveals Cabernet Franc in all its purity. Aged in new oak barrels, it combines dark fruits, spices and leather with a silky and mineral palate. To be enjoyed until 2030 alongside duck breast or leg of lamb.

Tasting notes for Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg 2006
To the eye: A deep garnet robe with brick-red reflections, of a silky density and a mineral brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and ripe blackcurrant intertwine with notes of blonde tobacco, black pepper and sage, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of aged leather.
On the palate: Velvety texture, well-integrated yet present tannins, carried by a vibrant acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and spiced finish where crushed stone and soft spices intertwine.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.

A vintage marked by balanced maturity, where the freshness of the terroir preserved the tension of the Cabernet Franc.
