The Clos Rougeard Saumur Brézé 2000, a Chenin Blanc from the clay-limestone soils of Saumur, is a rare wine aged two years in barrel. Notes of white flowers, ripe fruit and distinctive minerality. Clos Rougeard
A family estate rooted in Chacé since 1664, Clos Rougeard embodies the exacting standards of a Loire terroir shaped by eight generations of expertise.

Tasting notes for Clos Rougeard Saumur Brézé 2000
To the eye: a golden robe with old-gold highlights, of a silky and slightly unctuous texture, like liquid honey caught in the light.
On the nose: aromas of ripe quince, beeswax and dried white flowers, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of gunflint, evoking the estate's tufa caves.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, leading into a long and saline finish where notes of candied fruit and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve between 10 and 12 °C, in a Burgundy-style white wine glass, to reveal its full elegance.

A vintage marked by generous maturity, where Chenin Blanc succeeded in combining richness and freshness, typical of the great years of the Loire.
- Ageing potential: To be kept for a further 5 to 10 years in a cool (12–14 °C) and humid cellar, away from light.
