A historic estate of Pessac-Léognan, this classified growth has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 14th century, combining tradition and innovation under the direction of Bernard Magrez.
- Terroir: Deep gravelly and clay-limestone soils of Pessac-Léognan, lending the wines a chalky minerality and a structured elegance.
- Vinification: Meticulous blending of Bordeaux grape varieties, aged in barrels for a precise expression of the terroir and a silky texture.
Tasting notes for Château Pape Clément 2001
To the eye – Deep purple robe with garnet highlights, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of black plum and ripe blackcurrant intertwine with notes of graphite, camphor and gentle spices, lifted by a saline and mineral touch.
On the palate – Silky and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and persistent finish marked by nuances of liquorice and blonde tobacco.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its expression.
