Tasting notes for the wine Château Pape Clément 1989
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and a velvety density.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry, blonde tobacco, aged cedar and damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of liquorice.
On the palate: An ample and precise attack, carried by a lively acidity and melted tannins, with a long and mineral finish where soft spices and notes of aged leather intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
