Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Baron 1999
To the eye: A garnet robe with russet reflections, dense and silky, betraying accomplished maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, blonde tobacco and undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate: Velvety texture, well-integrated yet present tannins, lively acidity balanced by a chalky minerality, with a long and persistent finish on notes of liquorice and dark fruits.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
