Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Baron 1999
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tile-like reflections, dense and luminous, revealing an almost velvety texture.
On the nose – First, aromas of blackcurrant and fresh blackberry, then notes of light tobacco, cedar and a saline touch, like a breath of undergrowth after the rain.
On the palate – A supple yet taut attack, where chalky minerality embraces silky tannins, for a long and slightly spiced finish, carried by a lively acidity.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
