Haut Brion 1991
Château Haut-Brion 1991, a jewel of the Pessac-Léognan gravels, blends Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged in oak barrels, it reveals notes of dark fruits, leather and spices. Silky palate, melted tannins and chalky minerality. Perfect until 2025 with red meats or cheeses.

Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 16th century, combining family tradition and innovation under the stewardship of Domaines Clarence Dillon.
- Terroir : Deep and clay-gravelly gravels, a unique soil that imparts a chalky minerality and rare elegance to the wines.
- Vinification : Meticulous blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels for a silky structure and aromatic complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion Rouge 1991
In the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of velvety density, betraying more than three decades of patience and refinement.
On the nose – First notes of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant, followed by a touch of aged leather, golden tobacco and a subtle hint of graphite, like a mineral breath rising from the gravels.
On the palate – A smooth and taut texture, where the melted tannins embrace a lively acidity, carried by aromas of liquorice, cedar and a saline, long and persistent finish.
To be served between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1991
A vintage marked by climatic challenges, where the winemaker's rigor was able to take advantage of a hot summer to offer a wine of early ripeness and rare elegance.
- Aging potential : Currently at its peak, this wine can still improve until 2030, provided it is stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
