The Gevrey-Chambertin 2023 from Domaine Sylvie Esmonin showcases the clay-limestone soils of Gevrey. This Pinot Noir, aged in barrels (20% new oak), reveals notes of red fruit, violet, and a mineral touch. Its palate, silky and fresh, pairs beautifully with meats and cheeses. Aging potential: 5 to 8 years.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate embodies the Burgundian heritage, blending tradition and exacting standards to reveal the quintessence of its terroirs.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, the cradle of great Pinot Noir, where the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation expresses power and elegance.
- Winemaking : A respectful approach — indigenous yeasts, whole clusters, and measured aging in barrels — for wines that are precise, structured, and true to their origin.
Tasting Notes for Domaine Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 2023
- Appearance : A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture, heralding a wine that is at once generous and refined.
- On the Nose : A fresh and complex bouquet, where juicy black cherry, tangy raspberry, and delicate violet intertwine, before giving way to deeper notes of undergrowth, gentle spices, and a chalky mineral touch.
- On the Palate : A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension that balances the richness of the fruit. The tannins, supple yet present, draw out a long and saline finish, where the aging potential is already apparent.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.

- Aging Potential : Best enjoyed now after decanting, or cellared for 5 to 8 years in a cool, humid cellar to reveal its full depth.
