From the chalky soils of Gevrey-Chambertin, the Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée de la Justice 2022 by Joseph Roty captivates with its aromas of cherry and spice, its minerality and its silky texture. Aged in barrels, it can be enjoyed through to 2030 with meats or cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, Joseph Roty perpetuates a viticultural heritage where time sculpts the elegance of the wines.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and Jurassic marls, typical of the Côte de Nuits — a setting of minerality and depth for Pinot Noir.
- Vinification: Ageing in oak barrels, respect for natural cycles, for wines that are both precise and of a silky tension.
To the eye: Ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a velvety density, like velvet stretched over a chalky structure.
On the nose: Freshness of Morello cherry and wild blackberry, then notes of violet and liquorice, before a saline touch that evokes the limestone subsoils of Gevrey.
On the palate: Silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a stony minerality — the long and saline finish leaves an impression of purity and tension.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and a fruity concentration, while retaining the freshness characteristic of great Gevrey wines.
- Ageing potential: 10 to 15 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
