The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques 2020, born at Domaine Sylvie Esmonin, reveals the calcareous soils of Gevrey-Chambertin. This Pinot Noir, aged in new oak barrels (75%), marries dark fruits, spices and minerality. Structured and elegant, it will improve over 10 to 15 years alongside red meats or cheeses.
Domaine Sylvie Esmonin
A family estate rooted in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with rare authenticity.
- Terroir: calcareous and marly soils of the Côte de Nuits, shaping wines of chalky minerality and remarkable depth.
- Vinification: a precise approach, blending tradition and modernity, to craft cuvées that are both powerful and silkily elegant.

Tasting notes for Domaine Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques 2020
- To the eye: a deep ruby robe with violet highlights, dense and of an almost velvety texture.
- On the nose: aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry intertwine with notes of liquorice, violet and a saline touch, evoking the calcareous subsoils of the terroir.
- On the palate: a frank attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and taut finish where silky tannins unfold.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2020
A generous vintage, marked by early ripeness and remarkable concentration, while retaining a characteristic mineral freshness.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years; store under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
