The Château Troplong Mondot 1985, Premier Grand Cru Classé B, comes from the limestone soils of Saint-Émilion. A majority Merlot blend, it unveils aromas of dark fruits and liquorice, elevated by barrel ageing. Its palate, lively and mineral, pairs perfectly with roast duck.

In the glass: A garnet red robe with brick-red reflections, dense and slightly veiled by time, revealing a velvety texture and generous body.
On the nose: A bouquet where notes of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant intertwine, followed by hints of liquorice, cedar and a saline touch reminiscent of the estate's chalky subsoils.
On the palate: A broad, fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness of the melted tannins, while a chalky minerality extends a remarkably long finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
