History of Champagne A. Lamblot

Descended from a line of winegrowers dating back to the 17th century, Alexandre Lamblot represents the 13th generation of his family to cultivate vines in the Champagne region. In 2013, he took over 3.8 hectares of family plots located in Janvry, Gueux, Vrigny, and Chenay. Inspired by his apprenticeship with Jérôme Prévost at La Closerie, he decided to commit to organic and biodynamic viticulture, reinventing traditional practices to produce exceptional Champagnes. 

From the very beginning, Alexandre set himself apart with his innovative approach: he breathes new life into ancestral methods such as vine braiding and embraces a sustainable vision by planting fruit trees and promoting biodiversity. His philosophy rests on meticulous attention paid to each plot, each vine, and each cuvée.

Terroirs and Vines of Champagne A. Lamblot

The estate extends across the Petite Montagne de Reims, a region where the Meunier grape variety expresses itself particularly well. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, are planted predominantly using mass selection. They cover varied soils ranging from the sandy loams of Vrigny to the limestone of Gueux. 

Alexandre Lamblot makes it a point of honour to work his plots according to lunar cycles. The use of chemical fertilisers is banned, replaced by natural preparations based on essential oils and plants such as nettle, horsetail and dandelion. The braiding of vines, an ancient technique used to preserve the apex, has been revived to promote an optimal vegetative cycle and protect the vines from climatic stress.

Biodiversity is a priority for the winemaker, who implements agroforestry practices: fruit trees, bird boxes and a mobile hen house enrich the ecosystem of his vineyards. This ecological approach ensures healthy and expressive grapes, the foundation of the estate's refined wines.

Vinifications of Champagne A. Lamblot

The estate's philosophy extends naturally to the cellar, where every step is carefully carried out to preserve the authenticity of the grapes. Fermentations take place with indigenous yeasts, without chaptalization, fining, filtration or cold stabilisation. The wines are vinified and aged in a combination of 228 to 600-litre oak barrels, stainless steel tanks and stoneware jars.

The wines are bottled on fruit days of the lunar calendar, with very low sulphite levels (15–20 mg/l). After long ageing on lees, the cuvées are disgorgued on the fly, without dosage or added sulphur. This artisanal process guarantees brut nature Champagnes of exceptional purity.

Champagne A. Lamblot offers a limited but meticulously crafted range, with each cuvée reflecting the terroir and intuition of Alexandre Lamblot.

Intuition Nature 

A blend of 66% Meunier, 22% Pinot Noir, and 12% Chardonnay from Vrigny. Brut nature without filtration or fining, this cuvée is a perfect introduction to the estate's style.

Frénésie 

100% Meunier from old vines in Vrigny, based on the 2017 vintage. No filtration, manual riddling, and disgorgement on the fly, for a pure and energetic expression of Meunier.

Les Côtes Chéries 

An emblematic single-vineyard cuvée, 100% Meunier, from the Les Côtes Chéries plot in Gueux, planted in 1984. Aged in stoneware jars, it reveals floral aromas and a saline minerality.

Mouvance 17 

A brut nature blend highlighting the 2017 vintage, crafted according to the unique conditions of that year.

Rata du René 

Ratafia Champenois, a liqueur wine made from the last pressings of Pinot Noir aged for 15 months in oak barrels. A true curiosity, rich and complex.

Les Fourgons 

A rare single-vineyard cuvée, 100% Pinot Noir, from a lieu-dit in the Petite Montagne de Reims. Produced in very limited quantities.
