Tasting notes for Château Margaux 2009
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a texture that is both rich and precise.
On the nose – First, aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of violet, cedar and a touch of graphite, all lifted by a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate – A silky, almost velvety attack, where the tart tension marries a chalky minerality, carried by remarkably fine tannins and an enchantingly long finish.
