Pavillon Rouge 2005, the second wine of Château Margaux, draws its elegance from the gravels of Margaux. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it offers aromas of dark fruits and spices, a silky palate and an ageing potential of 20 to 30 years. Ideal with red meats and cheeses.
A historic estate of the Médoc, rooted in the Margaux appellation, Château Margaux has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries.
- Terroir: Deep gravels and clay-limestone soils, the signature of a Margaux of mineral elegance and refined tension.
- Vinification: Precise blending, ageing in French oak barrels, producing wines of silky structure and persistent length.
Tasting notes for Château Margaux Pavillon Rouge 2005
To the eye – A deep garnet red robe, with dense highlights and a velvety texture, heralding a generous and well-structured wine.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry and violet, lifted by a touch of cedar and graphite, before opening onto a subtle saline and mineral note.
On the palate – A round and fleshy attack, carried by silky tannins and a lively acidity, tracing an elegant and taut structure, extended by a long, chalky finish.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to unlock its full complexity.
