The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 2021 from Domaine Denis Bachelet, sourced from century-old vines (1907–1917) on the clay-limestone hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, is a Pinot Noir aged in oak barrels. It reveals notes of red fruits, spices and a subtle minerality. Fresh and silky, it can be enjoyed from 2026 onwards with red meats or aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Denis Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2021
To the eye: a deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: aromas of fresh morello cherry, wilted rose and soft liquorice, underscored by a hint of flint and a subtle note of damp undergrowth.
On the palate: a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a saline finish of remarkable length.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2021
A vintage marked by freshness and tension, where the maturity of the old vines allowed concentration and elegance to be balanced.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 25 years, to be kept under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
