The Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin 2022, from old vines (65 years), reveals the chalky soils of Burgundy. This Pinot Noir, with notes of blackberry and liquorice, is aged in oak barrels. On the palate, it combines tension and chalky minerality. Perfect from 2035 onwards with a game stew or duck breast.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate embodies the heritage of an exceptional terroir, where each generation refines an ancestral know-how.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, the cradle of Burgundy's Grands Crus, where Pinot Noir draws its chalky minerality and depth.
- Vinification : Patient ageing in oak barrels, respecting the purity of the fruit while sculpting a silky and taut structure.
- On the eye : An intense purple robe with dense, almost opaque reflections, revealing a generous substance and a velvety texture.
- On the nose : First vibrant with notes of morello cherry and wild blackberry, then deeper aromas of liquorice, damp undergrowth and a saline touch reminiscent of flint stones.
- On the palate : A precise and silky attack, carried by a vibrant acidity and chalky minerality; the tannins, well present, stretch into a long and elegant finish where dark fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16-18 °C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and rare concentration, where the summer heat sublimated the mineral freshness of the terroir.
- Ageing potential : To be cellared until 2050 under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
