The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023 from Domaine Joseph Roty, sourced from very old vines, marries dark fruits, spices and a touch of oak. Its palate, both taut and velvety, reveals a chalky minerality. Cellar until 2034 for pairings with game or aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this family estate has perpetuated a winemaking heritage for six generations, combining tradition and precision.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marl soils of Gevrey-Chambertin, where the Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru appellation reveals a chalky minerality and unique depth.
- Vinification : Ageing in oak barrels, with a fruit-forward approach, for wines that are both powerful and of a taut elegance.
To the eye: a deep purple robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose: aromas of black cherry, fresh violet, then liquorice and undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a chalky minerality.
On the palate: a velvety texture, carried by lively acidity and mineral tension, with a long, precise finish where gentle spices and truffle notes intertwine.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full purity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration harmonize beautifully.
- Aging potential : Cellar until 2050 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
