La Tâche 2019, Grand Cru Monopole from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, from Vosne-Romanée. This Pinot Noir offers notes of dark berries, violets and spices, aged in barrels. The palate, well-balanced, marries velvety tannins with mineral freshness. Ideal for 15–20 years, with game or cheeses.

Tasting notes for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru Monopole 2019
To the eye – A deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a generous and chiselled character.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where ripe dark berries (wild blackberry, blackcurrant), warm spices (liquorice, Sichuan pepper), a floral hint of wilted violet, and a subtle chalky note reminiscent of the vineyard's limestone soils all intertwine.
On the palate – A velvety and taut texture, carried by a vibrant acidity and a saline minerality that balances the richness of dark fruits; the finish, of remarkable length, leaves an imprint of liquorice and flint, the hallmark of a great fine wine for ageing.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
