The Château Gruaud Larose 2007, a grand vin de Saint-Julien, reveals aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and cedar, derived from aging in barrels (50% new). Its palate, balanced and mineral, offers a velvety texture and elegant tannins. Perfect with a leg of lamb or a matured cheese.
A Bordeaux institution rooted in the terroir of Saint-Julien, this family estate has embodied the excellence of the grands crus classés since 1855.
- Terroir: 82 hectares of Garonne gravels on the left bank, where Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in mineral and fruity balance.
- Vinification: A blend of tradition (cement vats) and modernity (oak barrels), for wines of precise structure and patient aging potential.
Tasting notes for Château Gruaud Larose Gruaud Larose 2007
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density that heralds a generous and already harmonious character.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry intertwine with notes of cedar, blond tobacco and graphite, lifted by a discreet yet persistent saline touch.
On the palate – A velvety attack, melted tannins yet still present, supported by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that carries a long and elegant finish, marked by gentle spices.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
