From the Kimmeridgian soils of Vaudésir, the Chablis Grand Cru 2022 from Louis Michel & Fils is aged in stainless steel. Nose of white peach and praline, a taut and silky palate with notes of quince. Ideal through 2038, it pairs with oysters and roasted sea bass.
Nestled at the heart of Chablis, this family estate has cultivated an unbreakable bond with the Kimmeridgian slopes for three generations.
- Terroir : The vines, rooted in chalky clay-limestone soils, draw their characteristic minerality from Jurassic marl, the signature of the Grand Cru appellations.
- Winemaking : A refined approach – fermentation in stainless steel tanks and extended aging – preserves the purity of the Chardonnay, revealing the most faithful expression of the Vaudésir climat.
- To the eye : Pale golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and crystalline brilliance.
- On the nose : First lively with notes of white peach and hawthorn blossom, then deeper accents of praline and fresh almond, underscored by a saline and chalky touch.
- On the palate : A precise and taut attack, where the lively acidity marries an unctuous texture, carried by flavors of quince and tangy marmalade, before a mineral and persistent finish.
Serve between 12°C and 14°C in a white Burgundy wine glass, to capture all its elegance.
A generous vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without altering their natural tension, offering a rare balance between richness and freshness.
- Aging potential : To be kept for 10 years and more, in a cool cellar (10-12°C) and away from light, to allow time to reveal its complexity.
