Petit Roy Hautes Côtes de Beaune Mainbey 2022 white from Domaine Petit-Roy, grown in Fussey on clay-limestone soils. This Chardonnay, aged in old barrels, combines citrus, minerality and vibrant freshness. Ideal with fish or seafood, to be opened now or up to 2032.
A domaine where Japanese rigour and Burgundian terroir intertwine, driven by Seiichi Saito. A quest for purity, between respect for the soils and refined vinification.
- Terroir : High-altitude vineyards in Fussey, on clay-limestone soils of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, where the freshness preserves the elegance of the Chardonnay.
- Vinification : Spontaneous fermentations in old barrels, without fining or excessive filtration, for taut and precise wines.
To the eye: A pale golden robe of silky clarity, shot through with chalky highlights.
On the nose: Aromas of lime and crunchy apple intertwine with notes of ripe pear and acacia honey, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of toasted brioche.
On the palate: A texture that is both round and taut, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and spiced finish where the energy of the terroir reveals itself.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C, in a white Burgundy wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and preserved freshness, where the balance between fruit and mineral tension is expressed with great precision.
- Ageing potential : To be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 15 years, in a cool cellar away from light.
