Champagne Grande Vallée Extra Brut by R. Pouillon & Fils: a wine from chalky terroir (Mareuil-sur-Aÿ). A blend of Pinot Noir (65%), Meunier (20%) and Chardonnay (15%), fermented in barrels, it reveals a saline, lively palate with citrus aromas. Ideal with oysters, to be kept for 5 to 8 years.
A family estate rooted in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where the Champagne heritage is passed down with respect for the terroir and natural cycles.
- Terroir : From the chalky hillsides of the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs, where mineral soils shape wines of remarkable tension and purity.
- Vinification : An artisanal approach, combining indigenous yeasts, ageing in neutral barrels and natural fermentation, for living and authentic cuvées.
Tasting notes for Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils Grande Vallée Extra Brut
- To the eye : A pale golden robe, of crystalline clarity, traversed by a ribbon of fine and persistent bubbles, like a breath of liquid chalk.
- On the nose : First aromas of green apple and candied lemon zest, then deeper notes of toasted hazelnut, grilled bread and a saline touch, like a sea breeze over chalky cliffs.
- On the palate : A silky and taut texture, carried by a vibrant acidity and chalky minerality, stretching into a long and saline finish where dried fruits and citrus freshness intertwine.
Serve between 8 and 10°C, in a tall flute or a white wine glass to reveal all its complexity.
Non-vintage (NV)
A blend cuvée in which vintages harmoniously intermingle, for a Champagne that is both fresh and structured, faithful to the spirit of the estate.
- Ageing potential : To be enjoyed now for its fruity brilliance, or cellared for 3 to 5 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) to develop more toasted and complex nuances.
