Aurélien Suenen crafts this Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 2016, sourced from the chalky hillsides of Cramant. Naturally fermented and aged in barrels and vats, it offers notes of citrus, white flowers, and flint. Its lively, saline palate, ideal with seafood, can be enjoyed until 2054.
Nestled in the heart of Cramant, this family estate embodies the demands of an exceptional terroir, where every bubble tells the story of a soil and a savoir-faire.
- Terroir: The vines, rooted in the chalky and clay-limestone soils of the Côte des Blancs, draw their unique minerality from the Campanian chalk subsoils.
- Vinification: An artisanal approach, combining spontaneous fermentation and aging shared between barrels and vats, yielding champagnes of remarkable purity and tension.
Tasting notes for the wine Champagne Suenen Les Robarts Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru 2016
To the eye – A pale golden robe, of crystalline clarity, where fine, persistent bubbles dance with understated elegance.
On the nose – Aromas of candied citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit) intertwine with notes of white peach and hawthorn blossom, before a saline touch and a hint of flint reveal the chalky depth of the terroir.
On the palate – The texture is silky, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality that structures a long, taut finish, where freshness and complexity intertwine.
To be served between 8 and 10°C, in a narrow flute to preserve the delicacy of the aromas.
Vintage 2016
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where the mineral freshness of the terroir expresses itself with rare precision.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2054, provided it is stored in a cool place (12–14°C), away from light and vibrations.
