Located in Marsannay-la-Côte, the first village marking the entrance to the legendary Wine Route of the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Olivier Guyot is an essential reference for lovers of great Burgundy Pinot Noirs. A family estate for several generations, the domaine today encompasses fifteen hectares of vines with an average age of 45 years, spread across Marsannay and Vougeot over fourteen different appellations, including prestigious Grands Crus such as Clos Vougeot. Farmed biodynamically since 1998, with a notable return to the use of draft horses, the vineyard produces red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines made from Chardonnay, reflecting the winemaker's philosophy: purity, finesse and elegance, with the utmost respect for the Burgundian terroir.
The Guyot family is among the oldest and most emblematic winemaking families of Marsannay-la-Côte. Each generation has passed down the craft from father to son, perpetuating an ancestral know-how deeply rooted in the Côte de Nuits. The modern history of the estate begins with Louis Guyot and his son Albert, who took over the family property in 1951. At that time, most of the production was sold to Burgundian négociants. A few years later, Albert's father-in-law, Georges Guyard, took on parcels as a tenant farmer before gradually acquiring them, thereby expanding the estate.
Since 1990, Olivier Guyot has been managing this family vineyard on his own, following many rewarding years working alongside his father. Driven by the desire to forge his own path in the footsteps of his forebears, he draws inspiration in particular from his grandfather, whose words remain his credo: "There is no Fine Wine without quality grapes". Named the best young talent in Burgundy by the Revue du Vin de France in the year 2000, Olivier Guyot has seen his cuvées enjoy ever-growing success. In 2018, his son David Guyot joined the family venture, thereby ensuring the passing of the estate on to the next generation.
The vineyard of Domaine Olivier Guyot covers fifteen hectares spread across fourteen different appellations, stretching from Marsannay-la-Côte to Vougeot. This mosaic of parcels encompasses some of the finest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits: Marsannay, Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Clos de la Roche and Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, as well as the regional appellations. The vines average 45 years of age, with some considerably older, guaranteeing concentrated berries and an authentic expression of each climat.
The grape varieties are exclusively Pinot Noir for the reds and Chardonnay for the whites, with the exception of one Aligoté cuvée. Soils vary according to the parcels, ranging from deep clay-limestone to stony hard limestone, offering a diversity of expression typical of Burgundy's richness. Since 1998, Olivier Guyot has farmed his vineyard using traditional sustainable agriculture, applying the principles of biodynamics: no herbicides, green shoots removal, leaf thinning, green harvesting and, above all, the large-scale reintroduction of horse-drawn ploughing, a guarantee of respect for the soil and deep rooting of the vine.
In the cellar, Olivier Guyot's philosophy is to extend the meticulous work carried out in the vineyard through the most discreet and least interventionist winemaking possible. The guiding principle is respect for the grape and the terroir: producing the healthiest and highest-quality clusters possible, so as to intervene as little as possible in the winery. The harvest is entirely by hand, followed by a rigorous sorting of the berries.
Ageing takes place traditionally in oak barrels, with a measured proportion of new wood adapted to each cuvée, to support the wine without masking its identity. Olivier Guyot favours gentle extractions and patient work, which reveal the full finesse of Burgundian Pinot Noir. The result is wines that are recognisable above all others: great aromatic purity, silky tannic elegance, chiselled freshness and remarkable ageing potential, in the tradition of the finest estates of the Côte de Nuits.
Bourgogne Aligoté: a cuvée paying tribute to an emblematic Burgundian grape variety, this Bourgogne Aligoté offers freshness, tension and citrus notes. A lively and thirst-quenching gastronomic wine, perfect as an aperitif or with seafood.
Bourgogne Pinot Noir: entry-level red, this Bourgogne Pinot Noir perfectly illustrates the house style. The expressive nose of cherry and small red fruits, the supple, balanced and flavourful palate make it a delicious and approachable wine.
Marsannay Rosé: a great speciality of the Marsannay appellation, the only village in the Côte de Nuits permitted to produce rosé. This tender, fresh and fruity cuvée blends notes of strawberry and peach on a lively and harmonious palate.
Marsannay Blanc: a village-level Chardonnay from Marsannay, this white wine seduces with its floral and fruity nose, its well-balanced palate, a lovely minerality and a fresh finish characteristic of the finest white wines of the Côte de Nuits.
Marsannay Blanc La Montagne: a single-parcel Chardonnay cuvée sourced from the lieu-dit La Montagne. Its pale colour, complex nose of citrus and white flowers, and its concentrated, taut palate make it a white wine of the highest order.

The palate is ample and structured; it can be decanted for immediate pleasure or cellared 6 to 8 years to reach its full potential.
Marsannay Les Favières: the most elegant cuvée from the estate in red Marsannay. Sourced from 25 to 30-year-old vines at the foot of the slope, this wine offers a brilliant ruby colour, a delicate and lightly spiced nose (cinnamon, vanilla), a well-balanced palate with juicy, fine tannins, marked by the finesse and typical grain of the terroir.
