Château Ausone On the Blancan rock, this family estate has embodied the excellence of Saint-Émilion for centuries. - Terroir: limestone and clay soils, perched on a steep hillside, shaping wines of rare minerality and timeless elegance. - Vinification: precise blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, aged in new oak barrels to reveal a structure that is both powerful and silky. Tasting notes for Château Ausone 2010 To the eye: a deep red robe with garnet highlights, dense and luminous, betraying a youth preserved by the rigor of the terroir. On the nose: aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant mingle with notes of liquorice, dried thyme and graphite, before a saline touch comes to underline the chalky minerality of the limestone. On the palate: a velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and fine, persistent tannins, giving way to a long and herbaceous finish, where the influence of Cabernet Franc can be sensed. Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity. Vintage 2010 A vintage marked by a dry season, where the concentration of the berries gave birth to a wine of a remarkable structure, combining tension and depth. - Aging potential: 25 to 30 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled hygrometry).
