Carruades de Lafite 2005
The Carruades de Lafite 2005, the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, is born on the gravels of Pauillac. Aged in oak barrels, it marries blackcurrant, cedar and spices with a silky palate, fine tannins and mineral freshness. To be enjoyed through 2035 with red meats or aged cheeses.

Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries, combining family heritage with mastery of an exceptional terroir.
- Terroir: Gravelly soils of the Left Bank, where Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes under a temperate oceanic climate, lending the wines a mineral structure and a distinctive elegance.
- Vinification: Precise blending and ageing in oak barrels, for cuvées where power is allied with silky finesse, reflecting the perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
Tasting notes for the wine Château Lafite Rothschild Carruades de Lafite 2005
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, of velvety density, betraying a harmonious maturity and a smooth, unctuous texture.
On the nose: A generous bouquet opens on aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar and golden tobacco, before giving way to a mineral, almost saline touch, reminiscent of the terroir's gravels.
On the palate: The attack is ample and fleshy, carried by silky tannins and a lively acidity that brings a delicate tension; the finish, long and precise, reveals nuances of soft spices and a chalky minerality, typical of the great Pauillacs.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its expression.

A sun-drenched vintage, marked by a dry and warm year, in which the grapes reached optimal ripeness, yielding structured wines of great elegance.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed through 2035, provided the bottle is stored on its side in a cool cellar (12–14 °C), away from light.
