A historic estate in Pauillac, rooted in a terroir of deep gravels since the 17th century, Lafite Rothschild embodies the discreet elegance and precision of the great wines of Bordeaux.
- Terroir: Fine and deep Pauillac gravels, on the left bank of Bordeaux, shaping wines of chalky minerality and refined structure.
- Vinification: Meticulous blending, barrel ageing for a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, combining tension and silkiness.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild Carruades de Lafite 2005
To the eye: A garnet red robe with deep reflections, of a silky texture and promising density.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and blueberry intertwine with notes of blonde tobacco, a fresh touch of menthol and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate: A broad and round attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and elegant finish, punctuated by a slight vivacity.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
