Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this family estate has embodied the excellence of the Grands Crus Classés de Graves for generations.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the appellation, bathed in a temperate oceanic climate — a perfect setting for wines of rare precision.
- Vinification: Meticulous ageing in oak barrels, combining tradition and modernity to reveal the natural elegance of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine de Chevalier Chevalier 1989
To the eye: A deep garnet robe with brick-red hues, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, toasted cedar and blonde tobacco intertwine, lifted by a hint of graphite and a subtle iodine-tinged saltiness.
On the palate: A velvety texture and melted tannins, supported by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and harmonious finish, marked by notes of liquorice and gentle spices.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
