Château Haut-Brion 1993, born on the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, offers notes of red berries and prune. On the palate, it seduces with its silky texture, fine tannins and a chalky minerality. To be enjoyed until 2030, it pairs elegantly with game and meat in sauce.
The last of the great Graves crus to join the circle of Premiers Crus Classés in 1855, this estate has embodied Bordeaux elegance since the 16th century.
- Terroir : 51 hectares of deep gravel over a subsoil of clay and sand, in the very heart of Pessac-Léognan, where the minerality of the soils gives the wines their characteristic tension.
- Vinification : A precise blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged with a rigour that preserves the purity of the fruit and the freshness of the tannins.
- In the eye : Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a brilliance that heralds a wine at once generous and refined.
- On the nose : First aromas of blackberry and black cherry, followed by a hint of prune and blond tobacco, before a chalky, slightly saline note underlines the complexity of the bouquet.
- On the palate : Velvety attack, fine and taut tannins, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness of the candied fruits; the long, mineral finish leaves an impression of purity and elegance.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
A vintage marked by a capricious summer, where the ripeness of the grapes managed to defy the vagaries of the climate to offer a wine of rare harmony.
- Ageing potential : To be kept until 2030 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled hygrometry), where it will continue to evolve towards deeper, spicier notes.
