A family estate rooted in the gravels of Pauillac, where the heritage of the Médoc is upheld with rigor and faithfulness to the terroir.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of Pauillac, cradle of great structured wines, where Cabernet Sauvignon expresses its minerality and tension.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels, respecting Bordeaux traditions for precise, fleshy cuvées of understated elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste Grand Puy Lacoste 1985
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and chalky density.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, evolving toward notes of cedar, blonde tobacco, and a saline hint of graphite, like a mineral breeze over the gravels.
On the palate – A broad and fleshy attack, supported by a lively acidity and a still-present tannic structure, offering a long and slightly austere finish, where dark fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
