The second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, Carruades de Lafite 2005 draws its elegance from the gravelly soils of Pauillac. Notes of blackcurrant and tobacco on the nose, a round palate with silky tannins, and a mineral, lively finish. Perfect until 2035 with game or aged cheeses.

- Terroir : Deep gravels and aeolian sands over a limestone subsoil, shaping wines of mineral elegance and rare precision.
- Winemaking : A meticulous blend, aged in oak barrels for a silky structure and lasting aromatic complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild Carruades de Lafite 2005
- To the eye : Deep purple robe with garnet highlights, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance, revealing a generous body and silky texture.
- On the nose : Aromas of fresh blackcurrant and ripe blueberry intertwine with deeper notes of blonde tobacco and cedar, underlined by a menthol touch and a chalky minerality, evoking the gravel of the terroir.
- On the palate : A round and fleshy attack, carried by fine and well-integrated tannins, a lively acidity and a mineral tension that guides a long, saline finish, leaving an impression of purity and balance.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
