The Guigal Côte Rôtie La Landonne 1996 from E. Guigal draws its character from the ferruginous soils of La Landonne. This Syrah, aged 42 months in French oak, combines dark fruits, spices and liquorice with a velvety tannic structure. Its minerality makes it a wine for cellaring until 2032, ideal with lamb.

A pillar of the northern Rhône since 1946, Domaine E. Guigal embodies family excellence and the heritage of the great terroirs of Ampuis.

- Vinification: Patient aging in new French oak barrels, preserving the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.

To the eye: A deep garnet red robe with tawny highlights, dense and silky, betraying an accomplished maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant intertwine with notes of black liquorice, blonde tobacco and undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate: Velvety and fleshy texture, supported by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, taut finish where nuances of leather and gentle spices linger.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to fully release its complexity.
