Tasting notes for the wine Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 2001
To the eye – A garnet red robe with deep reflections, dense and silky.
On the nose – First aromas of wild blackberry and fresh violet, followed by a hint of liquorice and roasted cocoa, before a saline note comes to underscore the complexity of the terroir.
On the palate – An ample and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, which extends into a long and persistent finish where sweet spices and dark fruits mingle.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full aromatic range.
Vintage 2001
A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering a perfect balance between concentration and freshness.
- Aging potential: To be kept until 2025, or beyond for lovers of wines at advanced maturity, in a cellar at a stable temperature (12–14°C), away from light.
