Guigal Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis 2007
The Château d'Ampuis 2007 from E. Guigal, from the granitic terroirs of Côte-Rôtie, blends Syrah and Viognier. After 38 months in oak barrels, it offers notes of raspberry, spices and flowers. Its mineral and elegant palate can be enjoyed through 2027 with duck breast or cheeses.

Tasting notes for E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis 2007
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet hues, of a velvety texture and crystalline brilliance, like a glint of schist in the light.
On the nose – First, fresh aromas of wild raspberry and Morello cherry, then deeper notes of faded violet, liquorice and black pepper, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of roasted cocoa.
On the palate – A silky and taut attack, where a lively acidity carries flavors of candied red fruits, sweet spices and blond tobacco, while a chalky minerality structures a long, spiced finish of great purity.
Serve at 16–18 °C in a Burgundy glass, after one hour of decanting.
Vintage 2007
A vintage where moderate heat and cool nights preserved the freshness of the fruits, while providing optimal tannin ripeness.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed through 2027, with a peak around 2020, stored in a cool cellar (12–14 °C) and away from light.
