The Guigal Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis 2019, from the schistous terroirs of Côte-Rôtie, blends Syrah and Viognier. After 38 months in new oak barrels, it offers notes of blackberry, spices and a velvety texture. Perfect until 2035 with a leg of lamb or a mature cheese.

- Vinification: A precise blend of Syrah and Viognier, aged 38 months in new oak barrels for an expression that is both powerful and refined.

To the eye: A deep purple robe with garnet highlights, of silky density and a brilliance that heralds a generous and precise structure.
On the nose: First aromas of wild blackberry and fresh blackcurrant, followed by a touch of violet and liquorice, before opening up to notes of cedar and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and mineral tension, where firm yet silky tannins stretch into a long, chalky finish marked by gentle spices.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2019
A sun-drenched vintage where the heat ripened grapes of rare concentration, balanced by a mineral freshness characteristic of the great terroirs of Côte-Rôtie.
- Aging potential: Store 15 to 20 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow the tannins to refine and the aromas to gain in complexity.
